In response to COVID-19, Yarra Oncology has transitioned the majority of our patient appointments to phone-based appointments, or ‘telehealth’. These measures prevent the spread of the coronavirus and reduce the risk to our patients and staff. If you are asked to attend the clinic in person, please note only one patient and accompanying visitor will be permitted to wait in the Yarra Oncology practice waiting room at one time. If you arrive and a patient is already waiting, we will ask you to wait in your vehicle and advise you when it is appropriate to enter.

Phone-based consults

  • Our doctors will call you as close to your scheduled appointment time as possible. Please do not attend the clinic unless you are expressly asked to by your doctor or Yarra Oncology staff. Please continue to respond to SMS prompts with YES to confirm your appointment.

Face-to-face consults

  • A small group of patients will continue to be required to attend the Yarra Oncology clinic. We will advise you of this requirement. Please continue to respond to SMS prompts with YES to confirm your appointment.
  • Do not attend the Yarra Oncology clinic if you or anyone accompanying you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, including a sore throat, runny nose, cough, fever or difficulty breathing. Contact the clinic to advise of the symptoms and find out what you should do next.
  • Do not attend the Yarra Oncology clinic if you or anyone accompanying you have travelled overseas during the last month. Contact the clinic to advise of your travel patterns and find out what to do next.
  • On arrival, we will screen you and anyone accompanying you for COVID-19 symptoms. If you register a high temperature, we will ask you to return to your vehicle immediately.
  • In keeping with social distancing measures, please maintain a 1.5 metre distance from any individual within the Yarra Oncology clinic and limit the people accompanying you to the clinic to one person only.
  • We will not be accepting cash payments at this time and ask that you pay by card payment only.

We understand this is a complex time and appreciate your cooperation in our collective efforts to protect Yarra Oncology patients. Please do not hesitate to contact the clinic on 03 9870 0079 to discuss these measures.
